A skilled position in the construction, maintenance, and repair of Communication Systems, Utility, and Highway Signage. This position works at various locations and may also be required to travel to another state depending on customer demands. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
Position Responsibilities
- Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance, or repair work of site locations.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed and using PPE.
- Assists with Rigging sign structures.
- Assists with Installing conduits underground.
- Maintains company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.
- Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
- Capable of working at heights and/or confined spaces.
- Must understand how to safely operate equipment.
- Assist in setting concrete and wood poles.
- Capable of using PPE.
- Must be able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather.
- Does all other related work as required to complete the job.
- Understands proper equipment setup.
- Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required. Overnight.
- Able to travel long distances at short notice, when required.
- Maintain safe driving record.
- Willing to work overtime when requested.
- Effective oral and written communication skills with both customers and employees.
- Meet daily deadlines and requirements.
Essential Skills and Experience
- 2-year minimum of recent field experience.
- Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Driver License.
- Able to travel long distances at short notice, when required.
- Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required.
- Able to lift to 50 lbs.
- Certification in SCDOT traffic control, MUTCD, and Traffic Flagger and knowledge of work zone traffic control.
